Natural Furling, a technical fabric in the Sunbrella Marine Protection collection, is developed to extend sail life and provide maximum protection in demanding offshore conditions. Its natural off-white tone pairs perfectly with boat equipment, while its lightweight construction and high UV barrier stand out.

Lightweight, Flexible Construction Developed for Sails

Unlike standard upholstery and heavy awning fabrics, Sunbrella Furling has a lighter, more flexible weight (~195 g/m²) and is designed to be sewn as a UV protection strip (UV strip) along the sun-exposed edges of furling headsails (genoa/jib). Its lightweight texture adds no extra weight when the sail is furled and preserves the sail’s precise aerodynamic shape and performance.

Excellent Durability in Harsh Marine Conditions

• UV and Sun Protection: Its 100% solution-dyed acrylic fiber technology prevents sunlight from fading the fabric or weakening its fibers; it fully protects the underlying sailcloth against harmful UV rays.

• Resistance to Salt Water and Moisture: It withstands salt deposits, heavy moisture, and weather.

• Breathable Texture: Its breathable construction prevents condensation and moisture buildup between sail layers, helping prevent mold, mildew, and odors.

• Extra-Wide 165 cm Width: At 165 cm (65 in) wide, it enables practical installation with fewer seams and joins in sails and protective panels.
